Privacy policy
WaxOn helps cyclists track chain-wax intervals. This policy describes the data it handles.
What we store
- Account: your Strava athlete ID, display name, and avatar URL, provided by Strava when you sign in.
- Gear & maintenance: bikes and chains you add, wax history you log, and distance counters derived from your ride distances.
- Strava access tokens, stored server-side only, used to read your gear list and ride distances. WaxOn never posts to Strava and never reads ride locations, routes, or health data.
Analytics
WaxOn uses PostHog to understand how the app is used and to fix problems: interaction analytics, server logs, and session recordings of in-app screens (text you type is masked). This data is associated with your account so we can debug issues you report. It is never sold or shared beyond PostHog acting as our processor, and it is deleted with your account.
What we don't do
- No ads, no data sales.
- No durable copy of your Strava activity history — only running distance totals per chain and processed activity IDs.
Sharing you control
If you create a share code for a bike, the person who redeems it can see that bike, its chains, and its wax history, and can log services. You can revoke this at any time, immediately.
Deletion
Delete your account any time in the app (Settings → Delete account) — this removes all your data immediately. Disconnecting WaxOn on strava.com does the same.
